I felt like celebrating today. It was snowing, I went to a 7AM spin class (which I'm really getting into now.. new addiction) and wanted to celebrate accordingly. I have always been a fan of the salty-sweet combination of peanut butter and chocolate.

If you haven't already noticed, I am pretty obsessed with healthy eating. But what makes me even happier is finding ways to sneakily incorporate dessert-like items into my meals. This was more like a dessert than a breakfast, but still uber nutritious and full of goodness. I definitely could not eat this everyday, but it's a fantastic combination that I will definitely come back to....

This is a thick chocolate banana maca smoothie bowl base with a plethora of deliciousness on top! I will break down each step below so you can make one, too.

Base

  • 4 frozen bananas

  • 1/2 cup homemade walnut milk (or nutmilk of your choice)

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 3 tsp raw cacao powder

  • 1 tsp maca powder

Blend ingredients in a blender until rich & creamy. Caution: many blenders cannot blend frozen bananas on their own, so add liquid accordingly.

Toppings

  • Golden raisins

  • Jungle peanuts

  • Chia Seeds

  • Raw buckwheat groats

  • Goji berries

  • Cacao Nibs

  • Pepitas

and then the amazingly decadent chewy raw cookie dough bites I made last night! I made these by "accident", and they turned out to be amazing.

Raw + Vegan Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bites

  • 1 cup pitted medjool dates

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

  • 1/4 cup gluten free oats

  • 2 tbsp organic peanut butter (raw is best- make it yourself)

  • 1 tsp sea salt

Pulse ingredients in a food processor or blender until chunky. Keep covered and refrigerated up to 1 week. Scoop little balls onto smoothies, oatmeal, or eat out of the jar like me...

Chocolate Sauce (vegan)

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 tsp agave nectar

  • 1 tsp cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp salt

Warm coconut oil over low heat until melted. Add the rest of your ingredients and whisk quickly. Pour over smoothie bowl and it will harden!
